New house for Jen!

Jen is all moved in to her new apartment in Charlottetown!

We rented a car for 24 hours and drove around getting all the things needed for her, a futon couch/bed, coffee table, end table, microwave, dishes, shower curtain, etc etc etc...phew, it all moved in now!  I spent the 1st night with her after we had a lobster dinner one block from her place...

Spent 6 hours cleaning the place, it was pretty dirty, not up to my standard of clean..Jen is happy that I was there to clean it!

Picked up all her boxes sent cargo from home, they arrived this evening.

Jen cooked Michael dinner while Terry and I went out,...Micheal is spending tonight with his big sister, he is pretty excited!

We love PEI!

PEI is a beautiful province!  Rolling hills meeting the ocean, red cliffs, light houses, farmlands, super neat and clean cities, great weather, wow, it is all so different for us to see!~We have a rental car and have driven around the island checking out every corner.   The Hunter River area is so far our favorite.....

We found Jen an apartment and she moves in on July 26th.  It's a funky bachelor suite right downtown!

3rd day of PEI..we are almost locals!

Jen and I walked into town (Charlottetown) yesterday to look for an apt for her.  There was a cruiseship in port and we saw a huge line up and didn't know what it was but later found it was people waiting to see "Regis and Kelly".  They are broadcasting live here this week.

We ran into many dead ends for rentals but then seemed to hit the jack pot...we found 3 places to live in one hour.  She now has to decide between the 3 choices.  2 of them are furnished 1 bedroom suites but far from the university...the other one is sharing a 3 bedroom apt with 2 other girls right across from the university....hard choice....

We rented a car for the week so that we could drive around the island and check it all out.  We drove up to Cavendish and then down to Summerside.  It is all so beautiful, lots of farms and the ocean right there.

The people here are so friendly and polite.  Everyone we have met have been so helpful and welcoming.
Jen is thrilled with the place already!

made it to PEI!!

After 6 weeks of travelling and over 6 months of planning we pulled into a cool RV spot in Charlottetown, PEI this evening!

We camped at Pancake Bay on Lake Superior ( near Sault Ste Marie) for 2 nights then headed towards Quebec.  We stayed with Jonathan and Yi and their 2 beautiful boys. The boys were happy to see Papi Terry and we all had a great visit.  We met Yi's parents and went for one of our best breaksfast's so far on the trip with everyone.

Left Quebec and drove through St Redempteur where Jen stayed on her  exchange 4 years ago.  Had some poutine at Chez Ashton's!

Drove though rural Quebec and saw some amazing old buildings, churches, beautiful landscapes etc etc.

Arrived into New Brunswick at 9 PM and pulled into, alas, another Walmart!  We are getting good at Walmart-camping now!

Drove through rural New Brunswick all day stopping several times to see the sights, collect pins, bumper stickers, geocache and take tons of photos.  We decided to push through to PEI since we were so so close and are happy that we did!

We drove past the University, Jen was thrilled to see the proximity of it to the rest of the town and Subways etc!  We saw lots of gorgeous farmland and have an ultimate RV spot right on the harbour!

We are staying put at this RV park for one week while Jen and I try to rent her an apt and we get a feel for the place.  We will be on PEI until October so this place will feel like home to us!

Driving through the Prairies

We left Rock Creek BC on July 1st and made it  to Cranbrook where we spent our 1st night at a Walmart!  We were all against Walmart camping until we tried it and it actually wasn't that bad after all!

We left BC and spent one night in Alberta in the Cypress Hills Provincail park.  Hit the road on July 3rd for Saskatchewan and spent the night in Regina ( at Walmart again...lol!).

Our plan was to see the Grasslands National Park until Sampson ran away!  We made the mistake of letting him off his leash while we were geocaching in Sask. and he took off after a gopher or prairie dog...he ran approx 2 km's away and it took almost 2 hours for us to get him back.  We were all covered in mud including him after the ordeal!

July 4th we spent the night at Spruce Woods Provincial Park in Manitoba.  The bugs were fierce!  We decided to hit the road again...and are now in Dryden, Ontario!

All we keep on saying is "show us the lobster traps" so we are heading to PEI quicker than anticipated!

Rock Creek BC and the Kettle Valley

We departed Osoyoos after walking on the desert boardwalk looking for birds etc.   We headed to Rock Creek BC where we ended up tubing down the Kettle River quite a few times.  Tubing from one end of the park to the other is about 2 km's and takes approx 30 minutes.  Jennifer and I decided to tube from the campsite down to the pub in Rock Creek, 7 km's away!  The ride took us 2.5 hours and were went inside and had fish and chips and a cool drink once we arrived!
