4 months away!

We have confirmed renters for our house effective June 1st, 2010. We will be hitting the road a month ahead of time! Time to start sorting out items...storage..RV...garage sale...

Getting closer

talked to JD today about my leave and it all sounds good! He asked me to put it in writing in Feb and will give me an answer very soon afterwards!

Terry and I have had some talk of going to Costa Rica as well as ( or instead?) but not sure yet what we will do.....

The New Year!

Now that it is finally 2010 we are making plans!

We phoned a real estate agent yesterday and mentioned to a family member that is looking to buy soon that our house will be "For Sale" very soon...

The vehicle plans are made, the "stuff" plans are going ahead...in the spring - sell the hot tub, the Harley and any unused furniture and appliances....

The modified plan...but still a plan!!

We are still leaving next spring/summer/fall....I have my request in for a leave..sounds good to get one for a minimum of 6 months to 1 year...

so the plan is on..just counting down!

Waiting...

I hate waiting!

Fall is here and we are putting the motorhome to rest for the season...now I am waiting for spring!

Getting closer!

I talked to my boss today and it sounds like I am approved for a leave of absence for next year!

We will be selling our house (hopefully) in the spring and on the road in the summer or early fall

LOTS of planning to do before we go.....

The plan has been made...

that is the date...

We have been talking about this for quite some time now and the time has come, the time is now,

( Is that a Dr Seuss line? ) we will be pulling out of town in less than one year!

Those that know us really really well know that we are (in)sane enough to do this, those that don't know us that well think we are absolutely crazy to do this...maybe we are a bit of each!

We are selling the house, subject to the market not bottoming out of course, selling everything except for our most treasured items, I am taking a leave from my job of 21 years and we are moving into our motorhome to travel across Canada and the USA...for a year or longer!

That's right, for a year or longer! Mike will finish grade 4 in the francophone school in Terrace and then I ( Kelly) will be homeschooling him (called roadschooling when traveling) for grade 5.

We will have to winter down in the southern states and then spend the warmer months up North. No real plan as of yet as to as route, that will have to be worked on in the next 10 months or so.

So many things to take care of before we go:

sell the house;

start organizing the stuff that will be sold;

make appts with the dentist, optometrist, Dr. and vet;

move our prized possessions into storage;

the list goes on and on...
