Cedar Key and the Suwannee River

We drove out to Cedar Key, a little fishing village an hour from our campsite.  It is a funky little place with lots of restaurants, pubs and shops.  Reminds me of a little version of Prince Rupert.  We will try to get back to stay there for a few nights once we leave Lake Rousseau.  Drove out  to the Suwannee River.

Stephen C. Foster wrote "The Swanee River (Old Folks at Home)"

The Swanee River
Way down upon the Swanee River,
Far, far away,
There's where my heart is turning ever,
There's where the old folks stay.
All up and down the whole creation,
Sadly I roam,
Still longing for the old plantation,
And for the old folks at home.

They must have changed the spelling of the name along the way?

Grandpa Munday aka POPS to everyone here at Lake Rousseau is leaving in 3 days but has decided to become a winter snow bird next year and is towing his travel trailer back here in October for 6 months.  We will have a place to stay next winter if we want to come for a short visit!
