just a little homesick....

We keep on receiving photos from home and stories etc...it is starting to get to us now!  After being at Tom and Debbies' cabin for the past 2 weeks with their fireplace, couch, washer and dryer etc I have realized that home is pretty sweet..too bad we don't have one!
Don't get us wrong, the weather has been fantastic, the scenery is unbeatable, the visits and meals with family and friends has been superb..there is just one thing missing..our own place..somewhere!  I guess since it is now officially Autumn and the fact that we are still in the RV and not all bundled up somewhere getting warm and ready for winter has a bearing on it.  Once we get to the warmer climates of Florida and Texas I am sure it will be okay again...

The Adirondack's

We are in the Adirondack Park in New York state.  We camped for 2 nights with Terry Sr at Fish Creek pond and are now at Tom and Debbie's cabin 20 minutes from Lake Placid.  It is beautiful here, the weather is great, nice crisp fall days, the leaves are getting ready to change soon.

Still no internet so I am relying on Starbucks today...and will be back next week some time hopefully!

We changed our phone so that we can use it in the USA for .25c a minute so we can receive phone calls if it is very important!!

Happy 10th Birthday Michael!

Wow!!

Hard to believe that my "baby" boy is 10 already...where did the time go?
Michael woke up to many gifts wrapped up in the RV, he wasn't expecting much at all so he was surprised.

We went to local cafe for breakfast and Mike ordered pancakes. The waitress must have heard Michael talking about his birthday as she had candles in his order and had the whole place singing to him!

We took Mike to a corn maze which was a real hoot.  The corn was 10 feet tall and we had to find 6 different mailboxes and get our paper stamped at each one. We did the whole maze in 25 minutes which was faster than the expected 45 minutes...all my navigating skills have paid off!  We ran into one couple in the maze that was lost and hadn't found one stamp yet!

We drove to Greenwood where Terry lived when he was young and he looked up his friend Larry that now lives in Berwick.  They hadn't seen each other since they were 6 years old so it was a nice reunion for them.

Terry checked out the military base in Cornwallis where he attended bootcamp.  The base shut down over 20 years ago so it was more of a ghost town.

We will now be out of touch for small periods of time..we are heading into the USA tomorrow to spend 3 weeks at TC's cabin in the Adirondacks in NY state.  No internet there and no cell phone service for us so we will have to rely on internet cafes and wifi hotspots once again....

a very happy birthday boy!

We survived Earl!!

It was fierce but short lived!

Woke up this morning to the winds at 6 am, turned on the news and saw that Earl had switched course overnight and was heading straight towards us!

We had about 4 hours of intense wind (enough to rock the motor home pretty good) and some heavy rain.

Just talked to Jen in Charlottetown and they are now getting it there...but a bit diluted from what we had.....

Batten down the hatches..Earl is coming our way!

We are in Nova Scotia and Hurricane Earl is headed directly towards us!  We are in Lunenburg, on the south east side of NS, Earl is expected to hit the south western side ( maybe ).  We are up high away from the water and have no large trees around us...we should be fine?

HELP!!!!!  Send money  :)

Hopefully you will all get an update from us in a few days!

Until then here are some pictures from Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg, taken today.
